This year, for my birthday, Garrett gave me the most thoughtful card anyone has ever given me. I just thought I'd share it and maybe inspire you to be a little more thoughtful next time you give someone a gift or a card because it really can make a difference!
On the front of the card it says: "Do not have a happy birthday." There is a picture of Steve Carell as Michael Scott from the office (one of my favorite TV shows) that is similar to this one:
When you open the card, the card plays a little speech from Michael Scott where he says, "Reverse Psychology is an awesome tool. I don't know if you guys know about it but basically you make someone think the opposite of what you believe and that tricks them into doing something stupid. Works like a charm." Then it says "I repeat: do not have a happy birthday."
OK- So the card itself is hilarious, right? And it is perfect for me because I love The Office and psychology is totally my thing. But it's what he wrote in the card that was so touching. Here's what he wrote:

Do NOT know that I love you,
Garrett
It made me cry. Not just because I'm so happy about getting a maid...ha ha ha... but because of all the things he noticed about me that probably nobody else in the world knows. Yes, I draw pictures and write words in the air with my big toe when I'm bored. And yes, I sometimes put a spoon behind my ear after eating a pudding cup. :-) Thanks for noticing, Garrett. You really made me feel special. I'm so lucky to have you in my life! I love you too.
